Hiking on October 31st

Hi dear hikers! Exam time? Halloween party?

OK Just a short hiking from Meeting point on Bjorno (in front of the first restaurant after the bridge) and making a loop of 10 KM in approximately 2 and a half hours.

Lets meet at 11o'clock in the meeting point.

IF you want to ride your bicycle from Park or Sundinska we can go at 10:20 from Sundinska together.

We can BBQ after the hiking or easily go to the restaurant if they are open.

It will be very beautiful with all the autumn colours.

20th hike

Hi everyone!

On Saturday the 24th we will hike between Hallstahammar and Surahammar.

It will be an easy 16.5 km hike, though we will go through swamps, so don't forget good shoes!

We will take the bus from Västerås central at 11.30, please be there before to buy your tickets in time.We will arrive at hallstahammar at 12.00 and start our trip.

It will take us around 4, 5 hours, depending on our team level, weather (cloudy) and the track's condition.We can take bus back home at 17:00/ 17:22 (train)/ 20:30/23:10

We might stop in Surahammar and eat a bit.

19th hike!

Dear hikers!On Saturday we will meet at the main entrance of the uni at 10.00 and make our way to Hallstahammar. The hike is 25 km long so count between 6 and 8 hours.You will have the possibility to have a dinner there or to take a train or bus back to västerås (42 and 44 sek).the first train is at 17.30, then buses at 18.00, 20.00 and 23.00.It should be raining so don't forget to bring good clothes as well as your meal and good mood with you!

Report of the Skultuna Hike!

Hi!
We were 8 people and did take the bus to Skultuna Kyrkan, walk to Bruksleden and took the path all the way to Västerås.
It started at 10:00 in the central station and finished at 18:30 at the same spot.
The weather was not bad as we expected instead it was actually very good.
We were Bjorn, Melika, Constance, Eva, Marion and Maya, me and Anna if I am not wrong with the spellings.
We had long stops for taking picture or for finding a way to avoid the water or checking the Old Curchs on the way or making fire for boiling the water and making tea! :)
We found some mushrooms and berries on the way.
Some got wet in their shoes but we had fun and we made friends.
Next hikings plan will be posted soon.

Skultuna!

Hi dear Hikers,
We are going to Skultuna in nourth of Västerås on this Saturday.

It will be cloudy and cold on Saturday but as swedes say,

There is no bad weather, there is just bad clothing!

(check the weather forcast websites yourselves please!)
So take rain jackets, warm clothes, extra socks, good shoes.

It gonna be around 18 kms to walk from Skultuna Kyrkan(Point A on the map) to Västerås.
We suggest to meet at the central station at 10:00 in the morning and buy our bus tickets by our mobiles or the ticket machines. (It might take some time, have money on your mobiles or take money or credit card to pay on the ticket machines)

The bus number 46 goes to Skultuna. The ticket will be less than 35 SEK.

We suggest to take the one at 10:20 and get of the bus in the station "Skultuna Kyrkan" which is shown as "Skultuna k:a" in the list of stations in the website http://www.vl.se/ and then reach the red path on the map no.1 from http://www.bruksleden.se/ and take it directly to Västerås. We suggest the purple path on the following picture but check it please on Bruksleden yourselves too.
We expect it to take maximum between 4 to 5 hours to get back in Västerås.
Take enough water and food for yourselves and don't forget your GOOD MOODS at home or if you have been on the trip to Helsinky in Finland or on the way back or any other possible place!

p.s.1. There is an old church (Skerike kyrka) on the way back at the "Point B" that is absolutely worth visiting. p.s.2. The emphasis is taht every body feels the responsibility of checking the posted information too. We suggest you check and choose.

Hi everybody.

We did go canoeing and it was fun!

This week weather is like this:

It is not a big problem for hikers but since we are in Autumn and we can still have nice weather I thought we can have a nice after cruise (Helsinki) hiking.

So next week on Oktober 10th we will go to either hallstahammar or skultuna by bus and walk back to Västerås.

Feel free to count it as the first official hiking around Västerås.

Canoeing!!!

Plan for Saturday 19th of SEPTEMBER

Hi everybody!
Last week we had a nice rookie hiking with a good group of new and old students. We went on cycle to the Bjorno island and had a short (half an hour) walk to the BBQ place and we did make a fire and met another group of students there and ate and drank a little bit and then some crazy ones swam in the lake and we went back to the Retaurant and had a fika and then went home!

This weekend lets have something more serious and we will meet on Bjorno at the parking place in front of the restaurant. We will rent Canoes and Kayaks and start our sailing trip at 10:00.

The number of the Canoes are limited so don't be late so that you can get one.

Afterwards we will have a BBQ and there is of course a restaurant if you want to eat there.
